Job Title: SMSC Coordinator


Location: School


Reports to: Headteacher/Assistant Headteacher


Purpose of the Role:

The SMSC Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing the school's SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural) education program. This includes ensuring that the program meets the needs of all pupils and supports their overall development, while also promoting a positive school culture.


Key Responsibilities:


Develop and implement a comprehensive SMSC education program for the school, incorporating a range of activities and initiatives to support pupil development.


Plan, organize and facilitate SMSC activities and events, such as assemblies, workshops, and student council meetings, to support the personal development of pupils.


Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure that the school's SMSC program is aligned with the needs and goals of pupils.


Develop and maintain partnerships with local organisations, such as charities and community groups, to provide additional support and opportunities for pupils' SMSC education.


Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the school's SMSC program, using data and feedback to make informed decisions about future initiatives.


Provide professional development opportunities for teachers and support staff, to ensure that they are equipped to deliver high-quality SMSC education in their classrooms.


Promote a positive school culture that supports and encourages SMSC education, working with pupils, staff, and other stakeholders to create a supportive and inclusive environment.


Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or a related field


Experience in SMSC education and/or program coordination


Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders


Strong organisational and project management skills


Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for education and SMSC education.
